Terminal development in Emmerich completed

Following the comprehensive infrastructure modernisation in the Port of Emmerich, on 11 May 2026 Contargo Rhein-Waal-Lippe officially accepted the recently installed container gantry crane. The investments were made by the port owner, Port Emmerich – Infrastruktur- und Immobiliengesellschaft mbH (PE). With this ceremony the development of the terminal, which took place over several years, is now complete for the time being.

Current Low Water Levels – Important Information for Our Customers

Currently, there are low water levels, and we would like to inform you about the current gauge levels at Emmerich, Ruhrort, Köln, and Kaub.

UPDATE: Congestion in Antwerp and Rotterdam

At present, average waiting times for the handling of our barges in the seaports are:

Antwerp: 45 hours

Rotterdam: 82 hours

Temporary Capacity Limitation at RWG Terminal Rotterdam from May 11 to June 11, 2026

From May 11 until June 11, 2026 (inclusive), major maintenance will take place on one of RWG’s barge/Feeder cranes. As a result, the operational barge capacity will be reduced during this period, which may lead to delays.
