The two storm systems “Manja” and “Luise” significantly disrupted rail services across large parts of Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium last weekend. Causes included fallen trees on railway tracks and temporary terminal closures due to high winds.
Weather conditions have since returned to normal. However, experience shows that it will take several more days for rail services to fully stabilise and return to normal. Due to the resulting backlogs and disruptions to equipment and train rotations, delays to shipments and, in some cases, cancellations unfortunately cannot be ruled out at present.
Together with our partners, we are working to minimise the impact as far as possible and ask for your understanding regarding any potential disruptions.
