At the beginning of July, container hinterland logistics network Contargo celebrated a milestone in e-mobility. The enterprise’s fleet of battery-driven heavy-duty semitrailer tractors passed the one million kilometre mark. Following an intensive testing, optimisation and start-up phase, a rapid increase in the share of battery electric kilometres in the enterprise’s road mileage is now envisaged.
The Contargo Beteiligungs GmbH has acquired a ten percent share in the Lille Dourges Conteneur Terminal SAS (LDCT) in France. The LDCT has operated the terminal in Dourges, northern France, since 2003. With this investment Contargo aims to reach new customers, offer existing customers an improved service and further expand its presence in France.
On 16 May 2024, Jürgen Albersmann, CEO of Contargo GmbH & Co. KG, was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport (UIRR). Through this commitment, Albersmann wants to play a role in strengthening the resilience and competitiveness of European CT operators and thus enable combined transport to drive the transition in the transport sector.
