Our trucking fleet in combined transport – flexible collection and delivery to your door
Everything from one source’: Contargo’s comprehensive service transports your containers safely, reliably and punctually between the hinterland and the seaports. Our trucks are flexible and fast on the first (or last) few kilometres of the journey. Thanks to our versatile trucking fleet we are equipped at all our terminals for virtually all types of containers. We generally have the following in service:

Tilt chassis / Vertical container loaders
Reefer chassis
Lowloaders
As well as our 40ft and 45ft multi-chassis vehicles – which of course also transport 20ft containers – we have special tank container chassis available.
If you need to transport a container which is heavier than usual, combined transport offers enormous benefits: because 44 tonnes laden weight is allowed within a 150 km radius of the container terminal, 10 percent more weight than usual can be transported by road – an essential condition for some transports, and for others a decisive competitive advantage. If you need even a few kilos more, we keep a lightweight chassis in readiness for you. And it’s very practical that two of the elements of combined transport are exempt from the Sunday, weekend and public holiday driving bans which can affect direct trucking.
The great advantage of pre-carriage and on-carriage trucking to and from the terminals is the ‘just-in-time’ service – the short distances between our many terminals and our customers’ loading ramps provide a high degree of flexibility for your planning. If our free allowance of 2 hours loading/unloading time does not suffice, you can take advantage of our Truck Shuttle service to optimise your transports - thus avoiding the costs of Lenghty waiting times at your loading ramp.
