Contargo opens biggest private charging infrastructure for e-trucks in Neuss

Today at its Neuss terminal, container hinterland logistics network Contargo is celebrating the official opening of its charging infrastructure for electric trucks. At present the enterprise is installing up to 90 charging points at15 of its locations, together with energy management systems including battery storage for its growing fleet of e-trucks, thus creating Germany’s biggest private charging infrastructure for electric trucks.

Following the move from Meerane to the business park in Crimmitschau in 2023, Contargo Network Logistics had almost 7,000 m2 of hall space at its disposal. Now Contargo has taken on the second building section there, comprising hall space of about 8,000 m2 plus around 300 m2 of social premises, for forwarding services, warehouse logistics and value-added services.

As one of the first enterprises worldwide, Contargo took delivery of 20 of the first serially produced battery-driven electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 from Mercedes-Benz Trucks on 20 December 2024. The vehicles will go into operation straight away at various locations of the container hinterland logistics network for container transport between port and customer.
