*We use CO2e instead of just CO2: Compared to CO2 the unit CO2e also includes the climate impact of 6 other greenhouse gases, such as nitrous oxide and methane. These greenhouse gases are between 25 and 22800 times more damaging to the climate than CO2 and therefore we also include them in in our climate balance for the greatest possible transparency.

econtargo: The One-Stop-Shop solution
econtargo, Contargo’s emission-reduced product, offers the first one-stop shop solution for the transformation – flexibly bookable, with planning reliability. Altogether 90 fully electric trucks perform the “last mile” transport (pre- and on-carriage) of your goods. They are powered by green electricity drawn directly from 90 fast charging points installed at 16 locations. The main run is by rail or by barges with electric motors.
Thus econtargo saves up to 94 % CO2e compared to transports by conventional direct trucking.*

An electric truck is used for pre-carriage, while the main leg is covered by rail using renewable electricity. Alternatively, the main leg can be carried out using an electric inland waterway vessel.In 2025, the maximum achievable emissions reduction in this example compared with transport by direct diesel truck was 94%. The calculation was carried out in accordance with DIN EN 16258 and the GLEC Framework on a well-to-wheel basis and follows the market-based approach.
