As of today, numerous professional groups in Belgium are on strike. The strikes are expected to continue until Wednesday and will have varying impacts on different modes of transport.
Since the dockworkers are not on strike, there are no operational issues at the terminals.
However, the Zeebrugge Traffic Control Center is on strike. This means that from today at 7:30 p.m. until Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m., no traffic will be possible on the Wandelaar–Vlissingen route and vice versa, nor towards Zeebrugge.
Port of Antwerp-Bruges has informed us that at least one lock in the port will remain staffed at all times.
However, the pilots have stopped working. This means that both inbound and outbound maritime traffic have been suspended. The impact is particularly significant for K913, where two seagoing vessels will not depart, and consequently no berth will become available for inland shipping. For the other terminals, we are currently assessing the effects on inland navigation.
