Update: Strike in Antwerp

The national strike in Antwerp against the federal coalition agreement on Tuesday, October 14, is causing further delays at the port.

At the Zandvliet Traffic Center, the nautical coordination hub, staff shortages have been reported since Monday, October 13, at 7:30 p.m. and are expected to continue until Wednesday, October 15, at 7:30 a.m. As a result, vessel traffic, including inland shipping, to and from Antwerp will be blocked during this period. The handling of inland vessels will therefore be limited or not possible at all.

It remains unclear how long the strikes and demonstrations reported in recent days will continue and what impact they will have on operations. However, further delays in workflow are to be expected.
