Update on the Strike in Rotterdam

Strikes and demonstrations are causing further delays at the Port of Rotterdam.

The dockworkers (lashing) in the Port of Rotterdam, who went on strike on Wednesday, have decided today to continue their strike indefinitely. This means that during this period, no deep-sea or feeder vessels can be handled waterside.

In addition, demonstrations by the Extinction Rebellion movement are taking place at various locations within the Port of Rotterdam – including at the gates of RWG and the APM terminals. At the same time, the group Geef Tegengas is also protesting.

As a result of these actions, RWG has been forced to close its gate and suspend landside operations until further notice in order to prevent further escalation.

It is currently unclear how long the strikes and demonstrations will last or what impact they will have on our operations. However, we expect further delays in our processes.
