Strikes in Rotterdam and Antwerp

Strikes at the seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp-Bruges are currently disrupting container handling and may impact our transports.

In Rotterdam, a 48-hour strike by companies responsible for securing and fastening cargo (lashing) will begin at 3:15 p.m. As a result, arriving ships cannot be unloaded and already loaded ships cannot depart, leading to significant delays.

Ship pilots on strike in Flanders
Since Sunday, pilots in Belgium have been on strike. Around 100 ships are now waiting to either enter or leave the Scheldt River towards Ghent and Antwerp, or to enter or leave the port of Zeebrugge.

The exact impact of both strikes cannot yet be determined. However, we expect operational delays due to ships not being unloaded on time.
