The services union Verdi has called for 48-hour warning strikes at German seaports, starting on Wednesday evening, 2 September.
The strike action will affect the seaports of Hamburg, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, Brake and Emden. In Hamburg, the HHLA container terminals Altenwerder, Burchardkai and Tollerort, as well as the Eurogate container terminal and employees of the Gesamthafenbetriebs-Gesellschaft, are expected to be affected. According to Verdi, employees will stop work from Wednesday evening until Friday evening.
Delays and possible cancellations are to be expected for rail and truck transport. We are closely monitoring the situation and will inform our customers about any further impacts on ongoing shipments.
