The storm is gradually moving eastwards. Some terminals in Rotterdam have already resumed operations.
- ECT and APM2 are operational again, but are still managing a backlog of cargo both inland and at sea.
- RWG and EMX plan to resume operations around midday and afternoon, respectively.
- The Maasvlakte remains closed until approximately 13:00 due to scheduled construction work by Prorail, which further delays the clearing of backlogs.
In Germany, conditions at the ports are becoming more challenging, particularly due to the Oberhausen–Emmerich line being closed until the end of next week. As a result, all traffic is routed via Venlo, which may cause temporary delays and potential disruptions due to long waiting times for train drivers.
Our trains are partially disrupted due to the storm and the upstream backlogs. We are attempting to secure alternative slots, but the terminals’ backlog clearance limits these options. RWG has announced that no new alternative slots will be made available for delayed trains over the upcoming weekend.
Outlook: Following the temporary easing, new storms are forecast for Saturday and Sunday along the Dutch coast. Additional temporary closures cannot be ruled out, and normalized operations are expected to be achievable only in the coming week.
