Due to structural damage at the northern bridge approach of the Kurt Schumacher Bridge, the bridge will be closed to all road traffic in both directions from 5 August.
Over the coming days, the City of Mannheim will gradually close all access ramps to the Kurt Schumacher Bridge. Once the closure is complete, all traffic between Mannheim and Ludwigshafen will be diverted via the recently refurbished Hochstraße Süd and the Konrad Adenauer Bridge, which crosses the Rhine into Mannheim.
As a result, significant detours, traffic congestion, and delays are expected with immediate effect.
