On 26 September, the PFS – Poland France Shuttle will set off on its first journey from Krzewie to Dourges. Together with the Duisburg Dourges Shuttle, which has already been running since 1 September, Contargo will be able to avoid up to 1,500 truck journeys per month on these routes.
The Poland France Shuttle (PFS) will comprise two different routes between Poland and France: Dourges–Krzewie and Dourges–Kutno, both located near Łódź in central Poland. In Dourges, onward rail connections will be available to Fos-sur-Mer, Lyon, Marseille, Miramas, Mouguerre, Paris, Perpignan and Rennes.
Route 1: Dourges – Krzewie
This direct service for containers and trailers, with one round trip per week, will connect the LDCT in Dourges with the Miratrans Terminal in Krzewie. The cut-off time in Dourges will be Tuesday at 18:00, with availability in Krzewie on Friday at 07:00. In the opposite direction, the cut-off in Krzewie will be Friday at 19:00, with availability in Dourges on Monday at 06:00.
Route 2: Dourges – Kutno
This route for container transport will connect the LDCT in Dourges with Central PL in Kutno, with an intermediate stop at the DIT, and will consist of two sections:
- The first section will link Dourges with Duisburg, with three round trips per week.
- The second section, between the DIT and Central PL, will be operated by Contargo via a partner service in the PCC Network, currently with up to five round trips per week.
“Combined transport is ideal for regular cargo flows over long distances,” says Andreas Mager, Managing Director of Contargo Intermodal Solutions. “With these new corridor solutions, we aim to expand the share of environmentally friendly transport between Central and Eastern Europe.”
