Terminal Operations Manager Guy Hanisch in service for 25 years
Ottmarsheim, 21. December 2011. At Contargo Sàrl Ottmarsheim a member staff has recently been honoured for 25 years of continuous service to the firm. On September 1, 1986 Guy Hanisch (50) began work with the former terminal operator Unikai Ottmarsheim, which was taken over by the Contargo network in 2004. This trimodal terminal, situated directly on the bank of the Rhine near Mulhouse, coordinates container transport by barge, rail and truck. Today Hanisch is still enthusiastic about his job and he knows that he made a good choice. Right from the start, he was responsible for the organisation of container transports (export and import) along the Rhine, and for accounting.
The man with a university qualification in personnel management has now exchanged bookkeeping for other duties. “I negotiate prices with road haulage companies, write invoices, submit offers and advise customers on the organisation of their transports. My tasks also include statistics and analysis of results,” Hanisch explains. Even though much of this is routine after 25 years, each day still brings something new. Hanisch enjoys working with a team and appreciates the fact that his employer is always open for his concerns.
By contrast to trimodal transport, Hanisch has adopted his own special ‘trans-port mode’ as a leisure pursuit: riding. The whole family shares this interest, and two horses stand in the Hanisch stables.
