SQAS at Contargo Ludwigshafen

Ludwigshafen, March 11, 2011: Contargo Ludwigshafen is now the first enterprise in the Contargo network to have undergone a SQAS (Safety & Quality Assessment System) audit. Contargo Ludwigshafen was assessed according to the 435 questions contained in the "SQAS Transport Service" audit of TÜV Nord. On 15 and 16 November 2010 the logistic specialist, whose container transports in the European hinterland include a large proportion of chemical products, successfully completed the assessment. SQAS safety and quality assessment is maintained by the European Chemical Industry Council ("Cefic") with the purpose of ensuring a high level of transparency in all enterprises concerned with the chemical industry.

Contargo Co-Managing Director Dr. Martin Neese is well satisfied: "Many of our customers are in the chemical sector, and they demand qualified partners for their global transports. Our successful completion of the audit provides shippers' logistics managers with neutral, objective facts about our performance, and highlights our strengths." The audit results can be viewed by the c. 29,000 members of Cefic on the website of the "SQAS Service Group".

Right from the beginning, in consideration of the especially high demands of its end customers, Contargo Ludwigshafen has applied its own high internal quality standards. Thus for several years now the enterprise has been certified in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), and of course holds a quality management system certificate in compliance with ISO 9001. "Contargo Ludwigshafen's success in the SQAS audit demonstrates the importance we accord to the areas of quality, environmental protection and safety. We are comprehensively equipped to deal with complex transport tasks", says Dr. Neese.
