Stefan Schaafsma supports the Sales Team in Zwijndrecht

868 people work for Contargo at 33 locations in seven different countries. In each issue of our Newsletter we introduce you to one of them. Today it’s Stefan Schaafsma, who recently joined Contargo’s team in Zwijndrecht as a Sales Executive.

“My job in Sales is to ensure that Contargo shows up on our customers’ screens – and stays there”, says Stefan Schaafsma, describing his daily tasks. “And I don‘t just give them information – I also make sure we know their wishes.” The 43-year-old particularly appreciates Contargo’s IT solutions, which help customers to clearly understand the benefits of our transport solutions. People are important in his work: “Pleasant cooperation with colleagues and customers is the basis for success. Also we have a great deal to offer our customers, and we can provide them with a good solution any time, for any assignment.”

Schaafsma is familiar with many different aspects of the transport and logistics sector. Before changing to Contargo, he worked as a Sales and Marketing Manager for an IT company specialising in this field and before that, he was an account Manager with the DVV Media Group, whose publications include “Nieuwsblad Transport” and the German logistics newspaper DVZ. As a result of these experiences, his networking in the world of transport and logistics is extensive.

He likes to spend his free time with his wife – together, they enjoy setting out from The Hague to explore the world. Their travels often take them to Asia. “If I had an opportunity to go somewhere on a container vessel, I’d find it interesting to sail through Germany, along the Rhine,” he says.
