Due to thick fog earlier in the week, there are now train tailbacks at the seaport terminals. As well as the difficult weather conditions, the increase in transport volumes just before Christmas is contributing to massive delays in rail transport:

- Connections to / from Bremerhaven:
At present, delays of 8 to 10 hours

- Connections to / from Hamburg:
On round trips to Nuremberg and to Frankfurt am Main: Delays of approx. 6 hours in both cases
