Energy surcharge for rail transports: Energy Rail Floaters (ERF)
The present unforeseeable energy price explosion increasingly means that the real costs of energy are no longer covered or compensated by the share of energy prices originally built in to our calculations. For this reason, we are forced to pass on part of the energy costs to our customers.
From 01.07.2022, the ERF will be charged on bookings for our train products. It will be calculated per TEU, and will take into account the different energy consumption of the individual products, meaning that the longer the run, the higher the amount.
The surcharge is dynamic, and will be adapted quarterly. The prices given below are valid from 01.07.2022 to 30.09.2022. We will inform you in good time in mid-September of any adjustment for the 4th quarter of this year.
Rail connection (to/from) | Product | Price |
Basel – Rotterdam | BWS | 15,- € / LU (loading unit) |
Wörth – Rotterdam | WME | 14,- € / TEU |
Mannheim – Rotterdam | MWME | 14,- € / TEU |
Frankfurt West – Antwerpen | FAS | 11,- € / TEU |
Frankfurt West – Rotterdam | FRS | 11,- € / TEU |
Neuss – Rotterdam | NME | 5,- € / TEU |
Please note that apart from our own connections, we will also have to pass on to you the energy surcharges for train products carried out by other operators.
We hope for your understanding and ask you to pass this information on to all responsible employees in your company.
If you have questions and/or require more information, our personnel will be glad to help you.
