Press Release 01 Aug 2023
Contargo enlarges its management team
On 1 August Contargo GmbH & Co. KG is reorganising its management team: Holger Bochow, who has occupied various executive positions in the enterprise for many years now, will be the fifth Managing Director of Contargo GmbH & Co. KG. His colleague Uwe Storch already joined the management team on 1 March. Thomas Löffler will be successively reducing his commitments.
As of now, Holger Bochow, as COO Terminal Network at Contargo GmbH & Co. KG, will have responsibility for all the operative hinterland locations, container terminals and technology. Bochow, who is 50, has many years’ experience in logistics. After completing his industrial engineering studies at TU Darmstadt, Holger Bochow commenced his career with a consultancy company. A few years later he joined Rhenus, where he worked in information management in the Port Logistics division. In 2005 Holger Bochow became Managing Director of the company now known as Contargo AG in Basel. In the meantime, he was also Managing Director of Contargo SARL in Ottmarsheim and Contargo Weil am Rhein GmbH. Holger Bochow has been a member of the administrative board of Gateway Basel Nord AG since 2015, a position that he will continue to occupy.
Commercial Director
Uwe Storch was already appointed CFO of Contargo GmbH & Co. KG on 1 March 2023. Since then, he has been responsible for Finance/Controlling, HR and Corporate Services. After studying business administration in Mannheim Storch, who is 46, initially began his career in 2002 as a trainee with Rhenus Contract Logistics in project management, going on to accounting and then controlling. In this function he worked in various areas of the enterprise, before moving to the Contargo Group as an authorised officer and financial manager in 2012.
“With the addition of these two new colleagues we have an excellent management team”, says Jürgen Albersmann, CEO Contargo. “I am especially happy that we have been able to fill both these key positions with managers who have spent almost the whole of their careers in the Rhenus Group. This is a good example of continuity in management and career advancement within Contargo.”
Thomas Löffler, until March 2023 spokesman of the management and most recently COO Terminal Network, will support the younger team as Managing Director until the end of the year. Löffler, who is 64, joined the management of Contargo in 2002.
“We are very grateful to Thomas Löffler for initiating and supporting the transfer of his various areas of responsibility in good time, and for continuing to make his expertise available to us for development projects. We look back on thirty years of trustful cooperation in the Contargo Group. Thomas Löffler can be rightly described as one of the founding fathers of Contargo,” says Jürgen Albersmann, CEO Contargo.
