Contargo receives Eco Performance Award

On 4 May 2015 in Munich, the sustainability concept of Contargo was honoured with the Eco Performance Award. This entry for Europe’s foremost award for sustainability in commercial goods transport centred around IMTIS, Contargo’s tariff calculator.

“Contargo greatly impressed us with its integrated concept, the defining of measurable objectives, and their development within the framework of a long- term business strategy”, said Dr. Wolfgang Stölzle, Professor at the University of St. Gallen and Chairman of the EPA Jury, speaking of the jury’s decision.

Kristin Kahl, Sales Manager and Sustainable Solutions Manager at Contargo GmbH & Co. KG, received the Eco Performance Award at the presentation ceremony on the eve of the transport logistic 2015 in Munich: “We are delighted that our long-standing commitment to the topic of sustainability has been honoured by this prize, bringing it recognition which we feel it deserves.”

The Contargo Group especially impressed the expert jury with its tariff calculation system IMTIS, and a sustainability concept which is credible economically, ecologically and socially. Kristin Kahl says: “Combined transport is complex at first sight. IMTIS helps to make it transparent – not only as regards prices and transit times, but also regarding the CO2 emissions (carbon footprint) generated by a transport. This is consistent with Contargo’s philosophy, because we take care to promote sustainable development at all levels of the enterprise.”

The Eco Performance Award is presented by DKV Euro Service in conjunction with its premium partners Knorr-Bremse and the PTV Group, as well as the University of St. Gallen. This was the eighth presentation of the prize, awarded for exemplary harmonisation of economic, ecological and social aspects in transport and logistics enterprises. The scientifically based evaluation of entries is performed by the Logistics Management Chair of University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

The Eco Performance Award is conferred by DKV Euro Service as an independent seal of quality.
