Pöhland is now called Contargo
Press Release 08 Oct 2013
Integration into the Contargo trimodal network is complete
Duisburg, 8. Oktober 2013: Contargo has completed the integration of Pöhland into the Contargo Group. As of 19 September 2013 the four companies Pöhland-Spedition, Pöhland-Transport, Pöhland-Lager and Pöhland-Container have been merged to form one company operating as “Contargo Net-work Logistics GmbH”.
The name change is the last step in the integration of the Pöhland group into the trimodal container network of Contargo, a process which began with the purchase of the group of companies in November 2011,” says Managing Director Ingo Röttger. “All contacts and services will remain unchanged.”
Now operating under the name of “Contargo Network Logistics GmbH”, the container terminal Hof is located ideally for fast transports to Southern and Central Germany as well as the Czech Republic and Poland via truck and rail. The only changes to take place: the former sites in southern and eastern Germany and in Hamburg are adopting the Contargo corporate design in all departments and the email addresses have been adapted to the Contargo standard. The former Pöhland sites in Döhlau, Luhe, Hamburg and Hof will be operating under the name of “Contargo Network Logistics GmbH”.
“The new name underlines the affiliation to the trimodal container network of Contargo, one of the strongest hinterland and terminal operators in Europe, while at the same time opening up a gateway to Eastern Europe for Contargo,” says Thomas Löffler, Co-Managing Director of Contargo Network Logistics GmbH. “On the other hand the addition of ‘Network Logistics’ to the group designation documents the common bond and identity of the network of the Pöhland group, which has developed over decades in southern and eastern Germany, and in Hamburg.”
