transport logistic 2013: Contargo networks with the Port of Rotterdam
Press Release 05 Jun 2013
Port of Rotterdam Authority includes eleven Contargo Terminals in InlandLinks
Munich, 5 June 2013: Contargo is to participate in InlandLinks with terminals in Germany, France and Switzerland. InlandLinks is an online platform and initiative of the Port of Rotterdam. On 5 June, Heinrich Kerstgens and Thomas Loeffler, both Co-Managing Directors of Contargo, signed the declaration of participation at the transport logistic fair 2013 in Munich. By participating, Contargo declares its willingness to have its sites certified and the results published on the initiative’s website.
“InlandLinks is an excellent marketing platform for our terminals”, comments Heinrich Kerstgens, ahead of the exhibition. “There we can present our terminals according to objective and comparable criteria, so that potential customers can quickly be convinced by our versatile and wide-ranging offer.”
Inland terminals can take part in certification for InlandLinks if they offer intermodal container services and have an intermodal connection to the port of Rotterdam. Every year, participating inland terminals are examined according to five quality criteria: Connection to the port of Rotterdam, including transit times; Services; Safety and Security; Customs Service; and Information and Communication Technology.
About InlandLinks
InlandLinks.eu is an independent online platform that presents virtually all Dutch and a large proportion of the Belgian and German inland terminals that offer an inland shipping and/or rail connection with Rotterdam. This free service (website) was set up to show shippers and freight forwarders the different routes to the hinterland from the port of Rotterdam. On the basis of such factors as the turnaround time, service and Customs facilities, parties can map out their route by inland shipping or rail. This website also gives them more insight into the facilities offered by the separate inland terminals so that they can compare them.
