On 01.10.2019 Contargo is introducing a new version of its General Terms and Conditions
On 01.10.2019 the CONTARGO Group introduces a new, fully revised version of our General Terms and Conditions (GTC 2019). The new version will replace the version that was valid until now (GTC 2016).
Our aim has been to develop new Terms and Conditions that are short, clear, understandable, and modern, but at the same time sufficiently "individual" to take account of the special characteristics of CONTARGO’s services, especially as a provider of multimodal transport solutions and a terminal operator.
To meet the criteria of "short, clear, understandable, modern" we have integrated the current edition of the German Freight Forwarders' Standard Terms and Conditions (Allgemeine Deutsche Spediteurbedingungen, ADSp 2017) into the CONTARGO General Terms and Conditions 2019. By doing this we have succeeded in replacing many previously individually-regulated areas by the modern ADSp (2017), which enjoy widespread cross-sectoral acceptance, thus enabling us to shorten the CONTARGO General Terms and Conditions 2019 considerably compared to the previous version.
Since, however, as indicated above, the German Freight Forwarders' Standard Terms and Conditions do not cover all the aspects and activities of a multimodal logistics provider and terminal operator, it was nevertheless necessary to regulate some areas individually and include these in the new General Terms and Conditions 2019. We need to consider, for example, aspects like tank containers, flexitanks, container weighing according to SOLAS, and Low Water.
We have worked intensively on the new Terms and Conditions and are now glad to be able to introduce you to the new CONTARGO General Terms and Conditions (GTC) 2019 on which our activities will be based as from 01.10.2019. The General Terms and Conditions for Maintenance & Repair (M&R) Services have been issued separately.
