Delays in the processing of barges in Antwerp
At present, container barges in the Port of Antwerp are faced with considerable delays.
Particularly the terminal at Quay 1742 now appears to have reached its capacity limits. Here waiting times of up to 120 hours have already been noted. Unfortunately it must be expected that this situation will not basically improve over the next few months.
Because of these delays we regret to have to inform you that we can no longer guarantee with certainty to adhere to the scheduled times at Quay 1742. We will make every e'ort to adhere to our scheduled times to and from Antwerp. However, it cannot be completely ruled out beforehand that we may be forced to make additional charges for the delivery of containers, to cover costs which may arise due to truck transfers and unloading by third parties. Of course we will inform our customers in good time if this becomes necessary. We hope for your understanding, and ask you to pass on this information to all relevant colleagues in your company.
