24.09.2015 – On 15 September, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Grand Hainaut (Valenciennes) received a delegation from the Port of Antwerp led by its President, Marc Van Peel. The meeting took place on a barge moored at the Contargo terminal “Escaut Valenciennes Terminal” in Bruay-sur-l’Escaut / St. Saulve.

The terminal hosted this event because it is the first – and so far the only – multimodal inland terminal in France to have the status of "Extended Gateway", and is thus an important partner for the development of the Port of Antwerp in the French market.
