GDL ends strike with immediate effect
The GDL (Gewerkschaft deutscher Lokomotivführer) has ended its present strike with immediate effect; the German train drivers’ union and its social partner Deutsche Bahn have agreed to a mediation process.
Rail transport as a whole will therefore be returning to normal; according to previous experience this may take a few days. We apologise for any indirect after-effects in the form of delays that this may cause.
Rail transports to and from our Contargo terminals are not, and have not been, directly affected by the GD L strikes, because for the most part they are not involved in the present pay disputes, and also due to Contargo’s policy of using various different rail service providers.
