German-Dutch Business Forum on Ports as a Location for Industry
On 3 October, representatives from important companies and associations in the sector of port industry met in Rotterdam at the German-Dutch Business Forum of the DNHK (German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce).
Among other topics, they discussed the economics of port operation and the potentials of hinterland transport. They reached the conclusion that both countries need to cooperate even more closely in future, in order to strengthen the growth forces that are urgently required in view of the rapidly accelerating pace of international competition and the ongoing increase in the flow of goods.
Sales Manager Michel van Meurs took part in the Forum representing Contargo. He summarises his view as follows: “Logistics enterprises in particular can make an important contribution here, by improving communication along the logistic chain and by developing innovative transnational concepts together with industry.”
