Congestion in Rotterdam continues

Despite slight improvements in the situation, waiting times for inland vessels at the container port of Rotterdam are still approximately one-third longer than usual.

By the implementation of the measures already mentioned, such as switching to other terminals, the terminal operators in the Port of Rotterdam hope to be able to deal promptly with the present volumes. In the next few days individual traffic peaks are expected which, due to the holiday season, will not be able to be compensated by the use of additional personnel.

Thus the situation cannot really be expected to return to normal this week. As soon as barge processing times in Rotterdam are normal again and do not involve diversions to other terminals, we will discontinue the congestion surcharge.
