Along the Rhine and Main, water levels have gone down far enough for inland navigation to be possible everywhere - although the restrictions of High Water Mark 1 are still in force. There is safe access for shipping on the Main as far as Frankfurt-Ost.

Unfortunately the forecast for the Maxau water level (Pegel Maxau) indicates that it is possible that the Rhine may be closed again on Tuesday afternoon. This would affect the Karlsruhe/Wörth area and the region up to and including Basel.

As things look at present, a Rhine closure could last for about 48 hours, so that there may be delays involving vessels in the affected area.
