Adjustment of the Low Water Surcharge
For the coming weekend a water level below 80 cm is forecast for the Kaub Gauge. Due to the reduced loads barges can carry, additional tonnage has to be chartered on the market. We have had to adjust the Low Water Surcharge (LWS) because of the massive present increases in charter costs.
If the situation should become more acute, due to the increased freight space requirements for coal and grain transports caused by the Ukraine crisis, we reserve the right to make further adjustments to the Low Water Surcharge. Please note the following Low Water surcharges, which apply for gauge levels at and below the 80 cm mark until further notice:
Kaub Gauge | LWS <81CM 2022 | |
(all Terminals south | 20' container | 40' container |
80 cm – 71 cm | € 201 | € 259 |
70 cm – 61 cm | € 283 | € 354 |
60 cm – 51 cm | € 387 | € 514 |
50 cm – 41 cm | € 589 | € 775 |
We must point out that for gauge levels of 80 cm or below in Kaub, we no longer have an obligation to transport. Nevertheless, we will do everything possible to transport your containers.
We ask for your understanding.
