From 2 November, 05:00 am to 8 November, 05:00 am, the harbour railway track in the port of Rotterdam will not be in operation, due to the commissioning of a new line section (Theemwegtracé). This will affect the lines to and from the port areas of Botlek, Europort and Maasvlakte East, which will not be accessible by rail during this time.

During this period additional delays have to be expected in the port of Rotterdam. The congestion problems that have existed for months will be made worse by the closure of the rail lines to large parts of the harbour. Trains will have to be unloaded at the terminals situated before the closed lines, but these have already more or less reached their capacity. In cases where our trains have to be cancelled altogether, we ask you to re-book onto barge or truck transport. Please speak to your usual Customer Service contacts at Contargo about this.

We also wish to inform you that we are not able to take over any possible additional costs that may be incurred by an alternative temporary production in connection with the railway closure.

We ask for your understanding, and ask you to pass on this information to all responsible employees in your company. If you have any questions or require more information, our personnel will be glad to help you.
