Contargo Rhein-Main is now testing a hybrid truck with overhead lines
On 10 June in Offenbach Kristin Kahl, Sustainable Solutions Department, and Eugen Werwai, Authorised Representative of Contargo Rhein-Main, took delivery of a Scania hybrid truck that runs on electrified overhead lines.
The vehicle was first handed over to Rhenus Trucking, who are making it available as a service provider to Contargo. The truck is one of five vehicles that are being used by logistics partners on the test section of the A5 motorway between Langen/Mörfelden and Darmstadt/Weiterstadt. By participating in the project, Contargo wants to support scientific research on alternative drives, thus coming a step closer to decarbonisation by 2050.
