New: Container train between China and Europe now also stopping at Contargo Neuss
The Eurasian rail operator FELB (Far East Land Bridge Ltd.) has included Contargo Neuss as a fixed destination in its schedule for container train transports between China and Germany.
On 9 April 2020 the Contargo team welcomed the arrival of the first train from China at their container terminal, and on 10 April the service started out for the first time from Neuss on the return trip. The background for this decision is the present challenging situation in goods rail transport in Europe. By the inclusion of the Contargo Terminal in Neuss the FELB wants to continue to ensure the smooth running of supply chains and avoid short-term storage bottlenecks.
Far East Land Bridge Ltd. specialises in the transport of containers between far eastern countries (China, South Korea and Japan) and Russia/Europe via the Trans-Siberian rail connection. Neuss is an excellent site for logistics, thanks to its central position and its access to the Rhine. At this location Contargo operates two terminals with direct rail access and three berths for barges. From here, the team of Contargo Neuss provides trimodal transport chains to and from the western seaports for all usual container sizes.
